Despite
the fact that venture capital was down for a fourth
straight year, the end of 2003 was very strong. So
far this year we are seeing a re-energized IPO market,
with numerous filings and pricings.
VC
experts are convinced that funding reached bottom last
year and will begin a rebound this year, absent any
outside factors.
What
does this mean to you? If you are looking to
access public capital, the market is getting stronger
and more money should be flowing.
If
you are looking to access private capital, there should
be more opportunity now than there was in the last few
years. The fact that larger companies are now
obtaining financing means that they are poised for
growth - which means more business for everyone!
Now
is the time for companies to formulate a strategy and
put their growth plans in place.
