The New BMW 5 Series

They said it couldn't be done.  How do you upgrade the finest series of executive sedans ever?  Start by providing more room - inside the passenger compartment and the trunk.  Then make the vehicle lighter, stronger and faster.

Let's start with the styling.  The car displays a sense of agility and power - your first hints at what is to come. From the front, it is easy to mistake this executive class sedan as a muscular coupe.  While maintaining the BMW identity, this car stands out from the crowd.

An all-aluminum suspension and other weight-saving innovations have reduced the weight from the previous version of the five series by over 100 pounds.  At the same time, both front and rear occupants have more room, and there is increased capacity in the trunk as well.

The weight savings translates into greater fuel efficiency and faster acceleration times.  When combined with some incredible new technologies, such as Adaptive Headlights, Active Steering, Dynamic Drive Control and Active Cruise Control, you have an automobile that surpasses every expectation.

Interior design is also at the top of the class.  Form follows function, and this car has every control in the right place.  The most often used controls are either on the steering wheel or the column.

A heads-up display is available that provides important information within the driver's line of vision while not obscuring or distracting from the road.  The driver can determine what data is displayed, such as navigational aids or road speed.

For interior comfort, a new Adaptive Climate Control, standard on all models, will automatically adjust both the temperature and the humidity inside the cabin, counteracting the annoying tendency of auto air conditioners to dry out the interior.

As always, safety considerations have a prominent place in the new vehicle.  Optional Adaptive headlights actually swivel with the bends in the road, providing greater illumination.  Brake Force Display provides extra brake light area during heavy braking, essentially adding additional lighting to the running lights to augment the brake lights, alerting drivers behind to dangerous conditions.

We could go on and on, but the best way to find out about this terrific new vehicle is to see it for yourself!  It is expected to make its debut in the U.S. in October, and as a VIP customer at Savage BMW, you can be sure that you will be the first to know when one is available to view!
