Head to the mall for a merger?

Retail is a tricky business, and department stores are chasing fewer customers as the larger big-box specialty stores and the Wal-Marts and Targets eat away at their market.  It’s no surprise then that two of the bigger players in the department store segment, May and Federated, are thinking about a merger.  Expect to see more consolidation in the retail sector as buying patterns and shopping trends continue to change.
